any way to make 16:9

hi if i have shoot normal 4:3 is there any way in post to make it wide squezed 16:9 i think there r in premiere but not sure needs any one who really knows and tell me plz

I shouldnt bother squeezing the image, just film normally, and then apply the clip filter with premier, and clip out black bands top and bottom of the image.

QuickTime Pro has a good masking feature - but then so do many other video editing programmes
